Off to The United States of America with Mommy and Daddy! We were really excited to take Pacey on this road trip and share one of our favourite things in the whole world. This was a super important and special trip for me because I wanted to create a new memory with Pacey on April 4th. Last year, my ship nearly sunk and I thought, mom would never want me to think of her and be sad. I thought the perfect way to share my mom with Pacey would be to spend every April 4th on a shopping trip in North Dakota - mom and I shared so many happy memories and I wanted Pacey to share the same fun we did! This year, Jason has decided to tag along, and we also met up with his mom, who flew all the way from Colorado to spend time with Pacey.
Our first stop was Culver's in Grand Forks. Flipping through a desert menu as daddy got our lunch. Pacey figured she would just take a strawberry shake and be done with lunch. No dice. | Mmmmmm fries and part of Mommy's burger. | Usually this would be the best part of her lunch - a sundae with candy on it! She ate about 3 bites and said she was done. It was then clear that she was still feeling pretty crummy, but what a little trooper! |

While daddy went to get Gramma, Pacey and I settled into our hotel room, which was really nice. She climbed up in the bed and wanted all her friends - "green baby, yellow baby, mermaid baby, Marni baby, David, Spike Jones, Lambie, and Scorch." I was hoping she would have a little snooze before we went out for our first round of shopping. Not quite - she spent a decent amount of time in front of the full length mirror admiring herself, and all the faces she could make. She gave herself kisses and high fives and then did some colouring. We found the kids channel and watched Berenstain Bears and she at least had a relax.
After hitting up a few more stores with Daddy, Mommy, and Gramma, we decided to go to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. It was a bit of an adventure to get there, but eventually we discovered it and had a very nice meal. Pacey, as usual, enjoyed the fresh veggies the best! After dinner, she was excited to go to the pool at the hotel to go swimming. Funny thing, the pool was too cold and the hot tub was too hot, so we spent a good 30 minutes going from one to the other - never long enough to actually step past our ankles, but we did give both several tries!
