I am so lucky to have the BEST big cousins in the world. They love me so much and are so gentle and kind with me. I can't wait for my cousin, Kai to teach me how to skate and shoot and be the best girl hockey player in the world. This year, mommy and daddy and I are going to go watch him play hockey in 8A1 - which is a pretty big deal for those of you who don't know. Basically it means he is probably the next Crosby, basically it means he is awesome, basically I just really love the hockey skates right off him!!! I can't wait for my cousin, Vayda to teach me to dance and show me all the coolest clothes to wear. A couple of weeks ago, she was already showing me how to master the monkey bars. She is so sweet and funny and kind hearted. She actually even got an award for her big kind heart at the assembly for Citizenship. She says it was because she is such a good friend and helper - she's not lying! Whenever they are around me, they want to take my picture, hold me, make me laugh, and play with me. They like going to the park with me and going for walks too. I am always just one happy little baby whenever I am with them. I am so lucky to have the BEST big cousins in the world!
Every week, mommy and I meet up with my Gramle at the park. I love Gramle so much!!! We always meet at the park and walk the same route. Sometimes I walk in my pram, other times I like to cruise in my jogging stroller with one leg up. I like to hear about Marissa and her adventures now that she is all done school! Gramle also fills us in on the status of my kind of cousin, who is due in March! I am excited and so are mommy and daddy! I also like to hear about the marathons and adventures that Gramle has, herself. Soon she will do a BIG run in Toronto. We will be cheering her on from Charleswood, but we hope she feels our cheer in her heart!!! Good luck Gramle!
This week, mommy and daddy took me for a visit to Bentley's house. It is always so much fun to watch my buddy hustle around and man, can he get around. One minute he is on the couch, the next, he is down the hall, under a chair, playing with toys, driving vehicles, mixing drinks, making calls, doing some business, and as always, making me laugh!
Bentley and I played with his toys, and I watched him motor around the house on his ride on toy. He is so smart! He already knows how to talk and can stand up all on his own. I remember when we were just two immobile buddies being pushed around in the stroller at the zoo and around the mall. Man, I have to figure out this crawling thing. I have places to go and people to see!
One of the things both Bentley and I enjoy is TV. I was telling Big B about my favourite shows, Charlie and Lola, and Peppa Pig (obviously). Then Bentley rocked my world and shared his new favourite with me. Bentley even sings along with it! I am passing on Bentley's highest of TV watching recommendation - The Duck Song Series. Although I am not so sure we enjoy these videos as much as our daddies do...
Get a load of me and my buddy Nixy! Matching hats!!!! We are probably one of the cutest sights you have ever set your eyes on. Nixy is exactly one week older than me. His real name is Nixon, and I am lucky to see him usually once a week for a walk. One time Nixy's mom thought it would be fun for me and mommy to go to a Kindermusik event with them. I guess she did not realize that mommy NEVER sings in front of anyone but me and daddy. Although, she did suck it up and sing a little to me - I believe the song was Schloft Kinderstein Scholft. It is certainly no Delta Dawn or Froggie Song. I can't wait to see what Nixy and I are going to get up to this week!!!
When Pacey-rae was first born, everyone told me that "babies always cry for a reason," and soon enough I would "understand what every cry meant." They were right. I know what a hungry cry sounds like, I know what a tired cry sounds like, and I am very familiar with the sound of a "stop playing with my hair" cry sounds like. As a mom, I know it is my job to figure out exactly why my baby is crying, and to begin the mission of how to prevent the problem, or pacify the situation. But sometimes, folks, I don't have a hot clue.
The other day, we were having our typical afternoon play time and all of a sudden P-rae flipped a switch. So, I started to go through the mental list - couldn't be tired = just got up, not hungry = just ate, hair is clearly already done, and looking sweet. So what gives??? Here is my list of feasible options as to why this kid flipped a seemingly out of the blue switch on me ...
1. She was upset we had not looked at our favourite clothing websites that day. 2. She was shocked that mommy put down the beautiful purple fall sweat suit at Roots and walked away. 3. She was appalled that mommy would not buy her the Little People Happy House toy at Toys R Us. 4. Her laptop malfunctioned and she lost a document she just spent 3 hours working on. 5. She correctly guessed we were going to try out Green Beans for supper time. 6. She just can't get over the rescheduling of Peppa Pig and Charlie and Lola during her nap time. (the nerve) 7. She was missing Daddy.
I am getting us started, clearly I was out of key, or a little pitchy. Talia does not look impressed. She takes this pretty seriously.
Here we are harmonizing - this is the best part of the song, we really start to give'er at the crescendo!
Talia was a little disappointed with our synchronizing at the end, but I told her "Hey man, it's ok. It's our latest track, we are bound to make some mistakes. We will kill it next time!"
On Tuesday mornings, we meet up with Miss Amy and Talia for a nice long walk. Mommy and Miss Amy usually talk about school stuff because Miss Amy works at the same school as mommy. Talia and I usually just chillax, watch the scenery, sometimes chit chat about the weather, and always make sure we practice our tunes. You see Talia and I love to perform our symphony as we walk through Assiniboine Park. Really, the park should be organizing some advertisement for this little audio treat. It starts with one of us beginning with a whine in a C sharp and the other usually joins in about half way with a B flat. You'd think the two notes wouldn't harmonize but it's nearly like Simon and Garfunkel. Every Tuesday around 9:45 ... drop by and have a listen, folks, you'll be mesmerized.
