I did one side a little heavier because I had her bangs pulled to that side for the morning.
This side was much quicker to do because it was the lighter side! Good thing, the show was nearly over!
Two and a half hours later ... braids still going strong!!!
So, the other day we were sitting upstairs in the office watching Peppa Pig. It was an episode where George's little brother continues to ask "Why?" Guess who caught onto that game really quick? Oh believe me, being a teacher, I am pretty much pro at this game, so Pacey has no the patience I have and the unique set of answers I can muster up to stop the game as well. Let the games begin!!! Anyhow, as we were sitting watching this show, I was just playing with her hair and I wondered if she would let me french braid it. When she was younger I used to do mini french braids as she slept but nothing that would hold. This was different! She was awake ... in Peppa Zone ... and I was ready to braid! The moment I have been waiting for since Feb 1, 2012 had arrived. I braided her hair before she even knew I was touching it. The results were an uneven part and two short braid tails, but all in all I will chalk this one up to a success. Why? Because I got the braids in. Why? Because she was sitting nicely. Why? Because Peppa and George were entertaining her. Why? Because they were at the dentist. Why? Because George had to get his teeth cleaned. Why? Because .... well you get the idea.
Dear Santa, I think you are missing one of your elves. I am not sure if she ended up here by accident or if you sent her because there was a mistake in the amount of toys you left at our house this past Christmas. The elf isn't causing much trouble at all, and only really appears in our bathtub - she's a clean little elf!!! If this was not a mistake and this is our very own "elf on the shelf," thank you very much - she's adorable and definitely a keeper!!!! Yours truly, The Westergards
Well, the awful truth is here, mommy must go back to work again!!! We have had the most eventful uneventful summer! Pacey has been to weddings, and the zoo. We took her to Selkirk and different parks. We made visits to Petland, and several non animal related stores too! We've gone for walks, chilled in our backyard, had backyard playdates, and walks in the Assiniboine Park and Forest and along the Harte Trail. We've spent time with cousins and had some serious snuggles during a rainy day. She has gone for late night walks with Daddy and taken the dogs for a few jaunts too. It has been great! One of our new favourite places to visit is the Splash Pad. We went for one last time with Nixy and had a blast. Too bad for Miss Ainsley, the daycare at the school she works at was there (hehehe!!!). Miss Ains was a champ and handled it like the amazing teacher she is!!!
Pacey-rae has discovered the concept of something being gone. When she notices something is missing, she puts her hands out and looks at me and says ... Gone? I know this is not a novelty to all the veteran mothers out there, but it is new for us and of course anything that is new fo
There is absolutely no doubt about it, Pacey loves her Daddy. Every morning this summer, she comes downstairs and goes straight to our bedroom looking for Daddy. When he is not there, she goes to the baby gate at the basement stairs and yells for Daddy from there. With two strikes looking for Daddy, she goes to the back window and sort of questions Daddy? Finally she realizes he is gone and in her quiet little way, she goes to the back door and finds his sandals. She slides them on her little feet and amazingly, with the dexterity of a Cirque Du Soleil acrobat, she makes her way around the entire main floor. I am not sure how she does it without a single tumble, but she does. When she is done, she takes the sandals and puts them back at the door and we get on with our day. What a weird kid!!!
Well, to be fair, a few things need to be considered before any judgements are drawn. They are as follows ... - It was not a water gun, just a little turtle with a trigger so he spits out water - She was totally into it!!! - The water was luke warm. - The field of play was maintained in uncarpeted areas - It was raining outside!!! Honestly, one of the most fun we have had as a family! Lots of laughing and squealing and just good honest fun!!! Please excuse the blurry pics - it was hard to capture her with my water turtle in tow and my phone in the other hand. I figure you would still be able to see the fun she was having!
This is her asking for more. We had given her the turtle but her little hands were not big enough, so she aimed and I pressed the trigger.
I just filled the turtle again and she was saying "ooooohhhhhh!" I am not joking you - she was amped for this game!
That cheeky little turtle got her in the face!!!!
Just enjoying a refill break.
First couple of squirts after the refill. She got one right in her open mouth and discovered a new fun way to drink water.
Obviously a new fun way to drink water!
"wa-er mmmmmm" "moh pease" "gen daddy"
I told you - she loves to clean. As soon as we were done she looked at the floor and said "Uh oh." Then she ran to the closet squealing "Keeeeen Keeeeen" I'm not complaining.
Pacey loves to snuggle up with the dogs. She loves to play with them, too, but every now and then she finds a quiet spot and just relaxes with them. This picture was from the weekend. I was getting ready to head out for the day with Jason and we were leaving Pacey with her grumpa. I was in the bedroom curling my hair and I heard the Peppa theme song. I looked out into the den and found P relaxing with her Cozzie!!! So cute!
