She's got good form, an eye for the unseen, and a good route for her swiffer.
She's got a good reach!!!! I do like the way she looks over, under, and in between for cleaning.
When I clean the house, Pacey is always very aware of what I am doing and she wants to help. She holds the swiffer when I sweep and follows me with her very own duster when I dust. When I make the bed, she sits on the floor and hands me the pillows. When I empty the dishwasher she always wants to close the door and if she finds something she thinks is garbage she is very quick to say "Bleh" and throw it in the trash can. I really wish my mom could see this! I think she would get such a kick out it! When she cleans I want to blast the Anne Murray and pour us a couple glasses of grape juice with ice cubes - anyone who knows my mom will know exactly what I mean!
It happens three times a day. It's an intense battle, a mind boggling game, and frankly just a joke. Everyday I suit up in my armour, I pump myself up thinking this is it - a home made muffin, jam on fresh bread, chicken parm, a grilled cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, the list goes on and on. I put it in front of her and I get my reflexes ready - am I catching? Am I encouraging? How will she react? I know I am likely putting too much thought into this, but lordy this girl is a tiny little ball of frustration in a high chair.
So, I am looking for some helpful tips, some great recipes, inside scoops, encouraging words ... HELP ME FEED MY KID!!!!
Our little peanut loves, no LOVES animals. She goes crazy when she sees a squirrel run up a tree, or birds flying in the air, or a bunny hopping into a bush. She goes mental when she sees another dog being walked and screams "PUPPY!!!" She loves seeing them, touching them, and finding them. It doesn't matter if they are outside or on the TV or in a book - she loves animals!. We took her to the zoo on Father's Day and that was a lot of fun (minus the mosquitos), she has been to little petting zoos here and there, and last week, I took her to Petland. Wow! I absolutely loved how excited she got for every single animal and just how much she enjoyed our time there. She was in heaven. Have a gander at the pics below to see how much she enjoyed it!
Pacey's favourite of the day!!! The Bunnies! She loved pointing at them and calling them Peter! She also kept trying to kiss them through the glass.
This cat was meowing and meowing so Pacey was obviously drawn to it. However when we got close, he/she/it swiped at P and scared her a bit!
This bird was clearly a bird after Pacey's heart! Clearly the bird was flaunting it's skills by holding the ball in it's beak - impressing Pacey as she squealed "Ball! Bird!"
I asked Pacey to choose one of the mice to get as a present for Bampa! We all know his love for rodents.
Hunter the cat. We came in around 11 and left just after noon - the cat did not move an inch. A real go getter.
The fish were exciting because they were so active. I was not anticipating that Pacey would practice her bare handed fishing technique.
Choosing a toy for Cosby.
And ... one for Saedi.
Brushing up on our Degu knowledge. Of all the books she picks an ugly, gross rodent to want to learn about. Great.
Pacey and I love to spend time together. I have had the best summer with her. She is so much fun now! I mean she has always been so awesome but I find myself laughing at her little personality. She might look just like her dad but her personality is all Smith - she reminds me so much of my family it is ridiculous. She has this little mischievous side that gives her a twinkle in her eye when she is up to no good. She has no fear and is not afraid to take any risk and she loves doing silly things to make other people laugh. Our days are spent laughing and doing stupid things with each other. I often think I am glad no one is watching as we "boom shake shake shake yo junk" or play the crazy head shaking game or lick wars. I try everyday to go somewhere with her - even if it is just a walk to the park or a trip to echildren. When I was growing up, my mom and dad spent a lot of time with my brother and I. They were very playful parents and always did fun things and active things. We had a lot of fun with our mom and dad and I want Pacey to have the same kinds of memories - besides, I love being around her. I can't think of any better way to spend my time than with my little girl!
Oh my goodness, our poor girl!!! Jason and I were preparing the house for our first open house and Pacey was waiting to be taken to her Grampa's for the day. It's hard for a one and a half year old to wait - very hard. She is very good at keeping herself busy, a little too good. You see, she gets into things, well not things really, EVERYTHING!!! And by getting into things, I don't necessarily mean drawers or cupboards, what I mean is she climbs on things as though she is competing in the next American Ninja (one of our favourite mommy/daddy shows). She gets in the most awkward, small, and dangerous spots and creates an extreme sport out of any little thing that is on the floor. She dumps toy bins to turn them upside down, climb up and scream TATOW!!!! Anyhow, back to the shiner. I was making our bed and tucking in the bedsheets and P was pillow surfing - standing on the pillow and sliding it back and forth - sigh. She lost her footing, fell forward and BANG!!! She started to cry and I scooped her up hugging her and soothing her, in my brain thinking of what needs windexing or sweeping or straightening before 1pm. When I pulled her away from my chest, her eye was purple and bloody and had started to swell. AUGHHHH!!! We packed up and zoomed off to Children's. Grampa came with us and helped us calm down and get ourselves parked. At first the wait was 45 minutes, and then suddenly it jumped to 6 - 10 hours. Pacey enjoyed looking at the fish, but it didn't take her long to start to want to run around and be silly. I decided to take her home to wait the 6-10 hours and see how bad it was. Grampa took Pacey home with him and kept an eye out (see what I did there? ha ha). No worries though, mommy and daddy took Pacey back to Children's on Sunday to have it checked out and cleared with the Doctor. Everything is fine and she is all better now!! First shiner - check!
P did not seem to worry at all about her eye when she was climbing and playing at PJ park that same night!!!
Her eye looked a little bulgier around snack time!
Day Two ... looks sore in this pic. Poor P!
The healing powers of Peppa Pig - this little porcine fixes everything!!!
We don't get to see Auntie M nearly enough, but little P loves to spend time with her and mommy absolutely adores Auntie M. Lucky for us, we got some Auntie M time last week and took a little trip down to the Forks! It was a beautiful day and we had a walk, ate some lunch, played at the park, and of course, did a little shopping.
Pacey is so very lucky to have two big cousins that LOVE her so much! They love to teach her new things and play with her. They look out for her and are always making sure she is safe and careful. They take turns giving her pushes on swings and playing with her. They are patient and kind and they absolutely love to make her laugh. And Pacey just eats all this love and attention right up!!! Pacey loves her cousins so much, that she often calls for them during the day when they are not there! She is one lucky, lucky little peanut to have such awesome and amazing big cousins!!!
