First Stop ... The Smith's...We went to see Auntie Kelly, Kai and Vayda!!!
Big love and snuggles from my sweet cousin Kai - who was a Street Zombie, but was a little worried I might get scared - so thoughtful. I bet he looked super scary and so great!!!
After nearly 55 pictures from both mommy and Auntie Kelly (who are a little camera crazy if you ask us kids), we finally stopped looking impressed. All we wanted to do was share our halloween treat bags and have some fun before the big event!!! Check out how adorable Vayda is as Minnie Mouse. She is so lucky, her Nan made her those sweet little ears!
When we got home, Mommy just had to try on my new winter hat from my cousins! It came with matching mittens too! Thank you so much Auntie Kelly, Uncle Ryan, Kai and Vayda - we love the chooses you made! Daddy says a big thanks for the American chocolate bars, he pretty much broke a sweat in excitement!
Next Stop ... Gramle and Grumpa's house
I couldn't believe it!!! Gramle got me the toy I picked out at A Child's Place but Mommy wouldn't buy me! That Gramle, she is so sneaky in such a loving and good way! Thank you!!!
I just had to get out of that sweat machine. I mean really, I was melting in their, friends, just melting. Gramle was surprised to discover my indoors costume! Even more surprised when she saw it glowed in the dark!
Before there was me, there were Cosby and Saedi. They get dressed for Halloween every year. This year Cosby was a lobster - sweet. Saedi was a hot dog, but she just couldn't keep her costume on. Oh well, maybe next year we can be a themed trio - Three's Company???
I had to get a look at Saedi, she was loving up on Grumpa (as usual) and ignoring me (as usual). One question.... what gives?
Third and Final Stop ... Grampa's House!!!
We tried to visit Grampa earlier in the night but he was out and about - not trick or treating. I think he was probably picking up his Halloween candy or something for supper. He might have been to the bank or to visit Uncle Crow - we weren't sure. We waited a bit but then had to go. So, I couldn't end my Halloween without showing Grampa my costumes and having a chat with him about the night. He just loved my Monster costume and I was so happy to see him I squealed and nearly jumped out of Mommy's arms!! Grampa is fun because he talks to me in my language. He is pretty much the only person who really gets me. We checked out the fan and then I started getting sleepy. It was 9pm - come on man!!!
Unlike mommy and daddy - Grampa lets me have the remotes at his house. I love chewing on them!!
Home At Last!!! Time for my Halloween Treats!!!
Wow!! Mommy and Daddy gave me a Halloween Loot bag. Lucky me! Well, really lucky them for having such a sweet little baby. Not spoiled folks, just really really loved.
I love my little tiger cub baby! She smells just like me and is nearly as cute as me. She is the perfect size for cuddling!
So here I am ... 10:33pm on Halloween night ... dead tired - only one 1 hr nap today, but I am still smiling and the cup is still half full! What a great first Halloween! Thank you family!
Am I at all concerned that my nearly 9 month old daughter knows how to flip pictures on my iPhone? Am I worried she knows how to change the animals on her animal sounds app? Do I think it's a problem that she can make the little shapes dance and giggle? No, just darn proud!!!
Come on man!!! Look at the sheer and utter determination on this kid's face. Admit it, you wish you had that drive!
October came and never stopped coming in our house!!! Our little miss, started the month off pushing herself backwards on the floor. Then she progressed to spinning herself around, the clever devil. And finally, that sly little fox has got herself moving forward in an army crawl. She is making good time. She can round our den and kitchen in about 2.5 minutes flat. In that time, she stops to ensure her jumper is sturdy - by tugging on the legs. She takes a quick 5 seconds to see if Bubble Guppies is still happening on the tele. If her pip falls out, she stops and puts it in. She sets her sights on the dog's dishes and makes a strict and fierce beeline for them (giggling hysterically on the way). And then, when she's finally done her lap, she loves to give mommy that grin that says ..."just you wait, lady, I'm gonna have you running in circles." And, sadly folks, she is not a liar.
So on top of the crawling and motoring and fun moving and shaking going on in our little abode, we have teeth. Now, our girl is not typically a whiner, or a crier. She hasn't been sick, or fevered. But these teeth, yikes!!! We had two full days of whining. Two nights of crying in her sleep (never waking up, because she does love her sleep, but crying in her sleep - so, so weird), and then a fever of 102 - which, not gonna lie, slightly absolutely scariesh. We toughed it out though. We braved the storm and now we got two little chicklets poking out the middle of the bottom gum.
So, often in the morning, P and I have our dance hour - and yes, friends, it is most definitely an hour long session. Sometimes little P is in her jumperoo and she bounces and claps and squeals. Then we like to dance together around the room. Pacey giggles and claps and squeals and it is great fun. She likes to sit on the floor and bang the floor with her hands. I like perfecting my running man and/or sprinkler, sometimes at the same time - admit it, you are impressed with my versatility. Anyhow this is about PR not RR. So... Last week I had my phone playing and, while this is embarrassing, and I did hesitate to post this, but if you could just see the way our girl gets all jacked up when this tune comes on. Man, just check out the pictures!!! (PS... If you click them they will get bigger.) I will endure any embarrassment for that kind of happiness. So worth it.
Hmmm - this sounds familiar. It can't be what I think it is, mommy isn't that crazy to start off like this...
Oh yeah... this is it! This is it! This is my jam, I can feel it in the souls of my feet!
Here we go, here we go... Turn it up mommy!!!
I'm noddin' my head like yeah!!! I'm movin' my hips like yeah!!!!
I throw my hands up! They're playing my song, They know I"m gonna be okay! YEAH! There's a party in the USA...
We have a pretty eclectic list of dance hits for our morning tunes ranging from Dolly Parton to Pink, toss in a little Stompin' Tom, rattle around some Sir Mix A Lot, get a little funky with some Electric Flag, bring it back to country with some Toby Keith, and sometimes, when we are feeling down with it, we pump up the Niki Minaj; however, we are currently taking suggestions, please make a comment and give us something to groove to...
Last Wednesday, we were very fortunate to be invited to have dinner with Gramle and Grumpa at Breezy Bend. It was a cold and rainy day, but we had a really nice time - wonderful food and company!! Thank you so much!!!
Every Tuesday morning, we pack ourselves up, even though it is supposed to be nap time, even though I am slightly cranky, and even though mommy hates sing songs; and we make our way to the Library for Baby Rhyme Time. It's a wee bit of a drive, and usually I drift off, but once we are there it is a real good time. Mommy likes to go a little early and walk me around showing me different books. She seems to really be pushing the counting books.
Then we go to the little room in the back and sit on the alphabet carpet with all the other babies. Some are very little babies and some are bigger babies. There are babies EVERYWHERE!!! I am happy to have my best buddy Nixy with me. Miss Ainsley always goofs around with me, and sometimes mommy and Miss Ainsley have so much fun they forget they should be singing the songs!! We love the smooth rode song, jelly on the plate, and pizza, pickle, pumperknickle. Those are our faves!!!
The best part though, is at the end, when Nixy and I can free ball it and crawl around. We get to choose some books from the bins and have a visit with all our baby friends. My favourite friend, is always Nix!!! I love sitting beside him. At the end, we give kisses and make our plan for a walk.
Jelly on the plate, jelly on the plate Wibble wobble, wibble wobble Jelly on the plate!
Sometimes one book isn't enough ... us advanced babies like to have our mitts on two or three at a time. Sharing, shmaring...
I am so lucky to have such wonderful big cousins. I just love my Kai and Vayda so much and they love me too. When we are together we are always laughing and smiling and they teach me all sorts of tricks and love to make me laugh. On Mondays, when Mommy goes back to work, I get to spend the morning with Grampa, then I am really excited because in the afternoon, Grampa and I are going to pick Vayda up from school and she will play with me all afternoon until Mommy is all done work. I can hardly wait! Today, Mommy and me had a wee visit with Vayda and Grampa. Grampa sure loves his girls!!! The best part of the visit was when Vayda and I had a little quiet cuddly time sharing a story. She is in kindergarten so she knows a lot more than I know, and she is even able to tell me stories. She tells the BEST stories because she makes her voice exciting. Mommy is a teacher so I think she is a pretty good judge of story tellers and Mommy thinks Vayda's stories are so right on that everything else looks wrong!
When we first start reading, it is important I get a quick lesson on how to hold onto a book so I don't rip it. My baby hands are sometimes more aggressive than I intend.
I love the beginning of the story. Vayda makes it so exciting and tells me all the important details. I love listening to her funny voices and great stories.
This is the BEST part!!! Things get exciting and we look at the pictures and guess what is going to happen! Vayda makes sure I can see all the pictures and know what they are. She is the best!!!
Sometimes we get to the end of a story, and sometimes we don't. Sometimes we just want to play with each other and hug and have fun - you know why? Because that's what cousins do... Thank you Vayda for loving me so nicely.
On Saturday morning we got a surprise call from Jackie! Lucky us! She said she had an awesome purple snowsuit, which was awfully convenient considering it is absolutely mommy's favourite colour! She also had a pair of boots for Pacey-rae as well! We were so excited because she said that she, Calli, and Auntie Pat were on their way for a visit. What a great way to spend a Saturday! We hadn't seen Calli since her first birthday and boy oh boy has she learned a lot! She is talking, and crawling, and even making short work of raiding her Grammie's purse! It was impressive to see all her skills and tricks. Calli is able to point to her belly button, her nose, and she is so funny - when Jackie asks "what does Grammie give you?" Calli puts her hand to her head like she has a headache. Mommy and Daddy were impressed! We loved the snowsuit and the boots, and all the little extras they brought with them. Thank you for thinking of us as the weather starts to cool down! Pacey-rae will be looking mighty fine this wintery season!!!
Then on Sunday, Brad called with more great news! He was cleaning his yard up and came across some treasures that he thought Pacey-rae might enjoy! The best part of the phone call was that he said he was going to come by later with Elyse and Brendan! How lucky! I remember how loving Elyse was at my baby shower, and I could not wait to meet Brendan! Oh, and it was going to be great to see Brad again! I had to wait all day for the visit because Brendan had hockey. The long wait was worth it! When they came, Elyse was so excited to see me and she brought me some prizes from her house! She gave me a beautiful pony, a heart, and two bunnies. I bet she knew those were some of my favourite things! My dogs were a little crazy and wild, but they settled down after a while and we were able to have a cute cousin pic! Three of the best looking kids you've ever laid eyes on I bet. We are model material but we try not to be boastful, not everyone is blessed. I could not believe my eyes when they unloaded their car. They brought me a picnic table, a wicked wagon, a bike, and a scooter, oh and even a princess helmet. I feel like the luckiest baby in the world. Thank you s
