I am 5 whole months old now! You wouldn't believe what I can do and how big I am getting! I weigh just over 15 lbs now - almost as big as Cosby!!! My doctor says I am in the 58 Percentile and I overheard him say to Mommy and Daddy "you couldn't have a more perfect baby." I dont' know much about Dr. Lazar, but I do know he is honest!
I play everyday with new toys and I am reaching and grabbing things like crazy. My latest trick is to pull things off the shelves in the stores so that Mommy has to go back in and explain how "her baby took it off the shelf." I think it is hilarious.
I am getting really strong too! I sit up for about 30 seconds on my own, until one of the doggies distracts me and I start to teeter. I can lift my head really high, and the head control I have - man, I am pro! I recognize faces and love touching people's faces to see what they feel like. I am able to lift myself by holding someone's hands and using my legs to push myself up. Pretty soon I will crawl - I know how to do it, I just need a little more practice.

I can't help myself...I love TV. The colours, the sounds, the songs, the funny voices. ALL OF IT - I love it! Every morning with my bottle, I watch a show called Rob the Robot. I love when they pick a planet, and when daddy sings the Pick a Planet song because he doesn't even know the words just makes them up! I always laugh! I also love watching Small Potatoes, Little Princess, High 5, and The Octonauts. Mommy never lets me sit too long because she does not like when I get so focused I forget to look when she calls my name.

Enough Said.
Much Better...
Very Special Visitors...
Stuck on the 4th Floor in an Elevator ...
It was a hot and humid July day when the telephone rang. No one answered so a message was left. It was the lovely and so talented Auntie Judi. Her voice sang through the machine like a chorus of angels. She called to tell us that the elevator in her building was out. It hadn't been working all day and she was concerned for us because her condo is on the 16th floor - which is a heck of a lot of stairs for a wee miss such as myself. Daddy played the message. He looked at Gramma. He looked at Mommy. Gramma looked at Daddy and then Gramma looked at Mommy. Mommy looked at Gramma and then Daddy. Ummm why didn't anyone look at me? Clearly I was the cutest one in the room.
We decided to get ready in our best duds. Daddy looked very nice in the shirt I gave him for Father's Day and Gramma looked pretty in her outfit. Mommy could have done better, but ran out of time - I'll forgive her, she seemed a little stressed - don't really want to rock that boat. Of course, getting me ready is like being backstage at a New York Fashion Show. It happens in stages - it's a process, really. First Mommy does the walk through of my current "most cutest" outfits and narrows them down to a top 5 or 7. Then we do the flash change - she puts the outfit on top of me and eyeballs the cuteness. This narrows us down to a solid 3. Then we get serious and try the three on until we find the one. Today it was a sweet little dress Auntie Kelly, Uncle Ryan, Kai, and Vayda gave me. It looked beautiful. So the dress was put on and I looked A to the Dorable, G to the Orgeous, and L to the Ovely. Next was hair. So far, i can rock four different looks - the natural side part, side part with a barette, headband, and ponytail. Today's choice - a ponytail. We were ready to go.
Daddy got on the horn and rang Auntie Judi who said the elevator was still not in service! All hope was about and just as they were about to hang up ... Auntie Judi heard an announcement the elevator was fixed!! Eureka!!! We piled in the car and set off for Auntie Judi's house. The conversation in the car had very little to do with me, and a lot to do with being overtaxed, underpaid, and overworked. Mommy and I chose to stare at each other and fall a little deeper in love. We held hands and smiled at each other.
When we got there, Daddy had to carry up some beer that Charlie the doorman thought was bad beer, so he waited for Charlie to get it. Mommy, Gramma, and me headed to the elevator. Boy it was warm in there! The elevator opened and we got in. A really big guy was in there and he was headed to floor 14. We pressed 16 for Auntie Judi's and were on our way. It was a smooth ride with some casual conversation. The temperature was warm, but I loved smiling at Gramma while we went up. All of a sudden the elevator completely stopped! No movement, no door opening, nothing, nada, zilch. I was very concerned. I started to brainstorm ways to get us out of this mess but no one was listening.
The big guy, Mr. Grant. He made the call to the desk to come and get us. They assured us that they would be there as soon as possible. The heat was rising. My heart was pumping, and I was still smiling at Gramma. Mommy started to worry because she doesn't do well in small spaces. She was breathing slow and steady and in her brain trying to figure out how long the oxygen would last. I smiled at her to reassure her, but I don't think she noticed. By now, the heat was a sheer scorcher and Mr. Grant told us that the air conditioning was also out in the building. I kept my cool, but listen folks, on the inside, I was ready to flip a switch.
Mommy could see my cheeks were getting rosy so she laid the blanket on the floor and sat down and sang to me. I chewed on my Dougie for a while and made the mature decision I was not going to cry. Mr. Grant called me beautiful several times, and like Dr. Lazar, he is an honest man. He called his wife to let her know where he was, and then he called Charlie and said in a firm voice "there is a 5 month old baby in here Charlie, you got to do something." Charlie kept giving him a time frame. I can't tell time yet. So I am pretty sure it was 9 hours solid.
Mommy was texting Daddy frantically and Daddy was pacing the floor in Auntie Judi's condo. Grumpa and Gramle had their heads together thinking of how to save me. Auntie Lyn was ready to rush the staircase to rescue us. Auntie Judi kept them all straight and assured them I was a star, and that I would pull our crew through this tragedy. At least this is how I picture it.
I was nearly dozing off when I heard him. The voice of a calm man. A man with a plan. A man with tools. He probably has a uniform - that means he knows his stuff. He told Mommy and Mr. Grant how to open the door. I let Gramma hold me so she could calm down. Mommy and Mr. Grant huffed, and they puffed and they blew - oh wait, wrong story. Mommy and Mr. Grant listened to the instructions and worked very hard to open the elevator doors with the man. Once they were opened - a new challenge appeared. We were stuck between two floors which is a little intimidating to a wee miss such as myself. But I am a trooper, I quickly organized us into an assembly line. I told Mommy to pass our things to the uniformed prince. Then I suggested that a chair be used to help us step down on. Then I suggested Mr. Grant go first - he has a bad heart you know. So down he went. I asked him to hold me while Gramma went. Gramma must have done this before because she was a little like a storm trooper jumping out of the elevator - it was impressive. Then Mommy came out and if there were a crowd there, I am sure they would have cheered and clapped.
It was my first rescue mission folks. Sure it could have gone smoother, could've been a tad more organized, but hey I am 5 months old, a little new to the game - give me a few more months and I will be as fine tuned as any Coast Guard.
The end.
